My lady & I have just had a week of good food, long walks & breath taking scenery. At the end of November we took a 3 hour drive North, in the dark & some how managed to find the little cottage that would be our new home for the week down a little farm track.

When we woke up the next day we were greeted by some great weather, mountains, trees & more spray painted sheep than we’ve ever seen. We were staying in a small Cumbrian village called Pooley Bridge situated at Ullswater — the second largest lake in the Lake District. The pace of life up there is really laid back, to put that into perspective they have a steam boat instead of a bus.

Each day armed with our cameras & a childlike sense of wonder, we explored the surrounding area — climbing mountains, rescuing sheep from traffic, making friends with old men called Mike in tea rooms & feeding deer peanuts from our hands. Then returning to our awesome cottage with the bathtub in the bedroom — awesome.
